Reena Sahni

Reena Agrawal Sahni is Deputy General Counsel in the Legal Division at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System with oversight responsibility for the Financial Regulation and Policy function, which consists of the Banking Regulation and Policy Group and the Monetary Affairs and Payment Systems Group. Reena has been responsible for overseeing and directing the work related to applications, interpretations, and regulatory and guidance development. She played a critical role in the Fed's response to the 2023 banking turmoil and has been actively involved in work to comprehensively assess potential changes to the bank supervisory and regulatory framework to address lessons learned from the recent banking stress.

Reena was appointed to the official staff in 2021 and was promoted to Deputy General Counsel in 2024. Prior to joining the Board, she was a partner at Shearman & Sterling LLP. Reena has a law degree from Columbia University and a bachelor's degree from Harvard University.
